SUV Breaches Dimapur Railway Station, Lands on Tracks; Elderly Driver Taken into Custody
A Mahindra Thar SUV entered Dimapur Railway Station in Nagaland and got stuck on the railway tracks, triggering panic and a swift police response. The 65-year-old driver was arrested, while authorities launched investigations into security lapses and initiated a review of station safety measures.
According to police, the vehicle entered the station campus under unclear circumstances before veering onto the tracks, where it became immobilized. The incident caused confusion and alarm among passengers and staff, prompting immediate action from railway authorities and local law enforcement. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and began efforts to safely remove the vehicle from the tracks to prevent any potential mishap.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 65-year-old Thepfhunetuo, was arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, and no train was involved at the time, averting what could have been a far more serious accident.
